Free Tools Every Beginner Online Seller Should Know

Most "best tools" lists are affiliate-link bait. This one is short, honest, and free where it matters. Pick the few that actually move things forward.
For your store
- Shopify (paid) — the easiest way to run a real store. Worth the basic plan.
- Digital Downloads (free, by Shopify) — delivers files to buyers automatically.
- Shopify Forms (free) — collects emails from visitors who aren't ready to buy yet.
For content
- Canva (free tier) — enough for covers, social posts, and product graphics.
- ChatGPT (free tier) — useful for first drafts and outlines, not final copy.
- Pinterest (free) — the most beginner-friendly free traffic channel for digital products.
For analytics
- Shopify Analytics — built in, enough to start.
- Google Search Console (free) — see what people are searching to find your store.
What to skip
Most other tools — SEO apps, upsell apps, pop-up apps — charge monthly and add little until you have real traffic. Add them only when you have a clear problem they fix.
